LETTER FROM THE EDITORS: CLOSING OUT BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Dear readers and supporters of The Stripes,

As Black History Month (sadly) comes to end, our Friday series is taking over and we’re dedicating a full week of publication to contemporary issues of blackness! In addition to the articles, be sure to tune in to another Round Table Discussion – this time on the dynamic between African and African-American communities.

But that’s not all. Our Round Table series was the first step toward inspiring discussing offline, but our goal is to create more of these spaces. So this Wednesday at 6 p.m., we’ll be hosting a dinner discussion on representations of black youth in the media. Campus location is to be determined and will be updated on the event page, here.  In the mean time, let us know which particular issues are of interest to you!

And last but not least, stay tuned for another video special after the Black History Month Closing Gala. If you haven’t RSVP’ed yet, get on it because spots are running out and we want to see you there! Thank you for all your continued support. The Stripesis on the move and we’re glad you’ve all come along for the ride.

Your editor board,
Aisha Oxley, Emily Tu, and Kovey Coles
