LETTER FROM THE EDITORS: MOVING FORWARD WITH THE STRIPES

Dear readers,

We know it’s been a while. But rest assured, we have not forgotten about our commitment to bringing you smart, fresh content on the issues surrounding race, culture and minority identity.

As we approach the two year anniversary of The Stripes this November, we are planning:

  1. A major revival of the blog, including more multimedia and creative content
  2. More engagement events on Princeton’s campus
  3. And… the launch of our accompanying print publication in the fall!

We are also in the midst of an important transitional moment as our founder and co-Editor in Chief, Kovey Coles, ‘15,  steps down from his post. We thank him for his brave vision to start a race-focused publication at Princeton and his tireless efforts to build and maintain its presence. We also acknowledge those members of our staff who have graduated or stepped down along with him: Anya Lewis-Meeks, ‘15 (social media manager), Evan Jackson, ‘15 (staff editor), and Don Wilson, ‘15 (head videographer/editor). All of you have had a part in making The Stripes what it is today.

That being said, if you are interested in getting involved with The Stripes this upcoming school year, don’t hesitate to reach out to us! As big as our plans are, we will need all the help we can get. If you’re interested in any of the positions, please shoot us an email at aoxley@ and eatu@.

Finally, we plan on continuing to publish new content during what remains of the summer. If you have any thoughts on recent events – from Sandra Bland’s death to race on the presidential campaign trail – please submit. We’d love to have them.

Sincerely,
Aisha Oxley
